We Are Expanding!

As a church family, we are called to love God, love people and make disciples. God is blessing our faith family with growth and we are reaching maximum capacity throughout our facilities. We give all thanks and glory to God, who alone has the power to build and grow His church. After much prayer and consideration we believe God is calling us to move forward in preparing our space for the future He is preparing for us. We recognize that accomplishing this goal will take prayer and sacrifice by all. We ask that you prayerfully consider how God would have you be a part of this project. There are no limits to what God can accomplish when we faithfully and collectively follow His will. To learn more about our project, please explore below.

Our Vision

We envision a new building that will serve as a hub for our various ministries and church life. A place where generations will gather to fellowship and share in life. A place where our children and youth ministries may grow and thrive. A place that will accommodate various activities to disciple the redeemed and reach those without Christ. The space will be designed to include:

  • A large versatile fellowship space that can be used for church gatherings, meeting space and recreational purposes
  • An updated industrial kitchen
  • Children’s classrooms & recreational space
  • Youth worship area & recreational space
  • Additional updated bathrooms
  • Stairs and AD compliant access to the upstairs
  • And storage space

Phases of Our Project

Phase 1

Fundraising Phase

  • Reach $2,000,000 Goal
  • This will not cover the project in its entirety, but reflects the number we desire to raise before beginning the design phase

Phase 2

Design Phase

  • We will work to develop architectural plans
  • Approximate time line is one year
  • We would continue fundraising efforts through this phase
  • Total fundraising need is $3,000,000

Phase 3

Building Phase

  • The building phase will begin after the design has been approved and the church votes to begin the next phase
  • The building phase is estimated to take one year

FAQ

Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions. Should you have any other questions we invite you to reach out via email or phone and we will be happy to assist you.

  • You can give now. The giving campaign will run for 3 years Sept 2025-Sept 2028. Some people will choose to give weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly or one lump sum. All of these options are available. Many will set up recurring e-giving via the website.

  • Over the next three years, we anticipate that people will contribute through all of the ways people currently give to our church.  This includes cash, checks, donations and more. You can also give online at klbc.churchcenter.com/giving.

  • In our bulletin: We will have updated building fund totals in each week's bulletin. Note: online giving will be added on the first of each month.

In our sanctuary: We will celebrate each $100,000 mile stone together by placing a brick in our custom built "church funding progress display" during Sunday morning worship services.
  • The answer will partially be determined by how long it takes to raise sufficient funds. Once we have $2,000,000 raised we will begin the design phase, which could take up to a year. Following the design phase we would begin the building phase, which could also take up to a year. The project in its entirety will take up to two years to complete. The unknown is how long it will take to raise sufficient funds to begin the building project.

  • The purpose of the building project is to provide needed space to our growing ministries and to expand our ability to reach a growing community. We recognize that we will eventually need to address our worship space as well. After much prayer and consideration, we believe beginning with the education/fellowship space will allow us the best opportunity to meet the growing needs with the least disruption to our current ministries.

  • While there is no set design in place, we do have a concept of what the space will accommodate:

    Downstairs:

Downstairs will house an enlarged fellowship space with a new kitchen to facilitate church fellowship and events. The fellowship space will also serve as a recreational space for kids/students on Wednesday nights and could offer recreational opportunities for adults through the week, such as pickleball or a space to walk. There will also be new restrooms downstairs to eventually replace the restrooms behind the sanctuary.

    Upstairs:

Upstairs, will be the Next Gen floor. There will be ample space to house our children's and youth ministries, while our nursery and toddlers will remain in their current locations. Moving our children upstairs will provide more Sunday school/education space in the current education wing, while moving the youth upstairs will free up space where the current youth house sits for more parking.

The estimated total sq. ft will be approximately 9,000 sq. ft.

  • The design phase for a project such as this is a significant expense, more than $250,000. Once the design is complete we will have a specific amount of time to complete the project to comply with current building codes. Once that time expires the design may require updates and recertification, which would incur an extra expense. Another factor is the unknown. We understand our needs today, but in two to three years our space needs may look different. We believe that raising a significant portion of the funds first will allow us to enter into the design phase confidently ready to move forward with the building phase as the design is completed. This would also allow us to tailor the design of this building to our most current and projected needs.
